Here at Community Harvest we’re all about making sure everyone in our community can eat enough fresh food to stay healthy and full. Sadly, we know fresh fruits & veggies are not always a reality for the millions of Americans living on SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, formerly known as food stamps) Benefits and the 1 in 5 residents of NCW struggling with food insecurity.

Help us raise awareness of hunger in America: TAKE THE (N)CW SNAP CHALLENGE!

To read the Challenge’s full guidelines, sample menus, coupons, and other participants’ experiences visit http://centralwashingtonsnapchallenge2013.wordpress.com.

Participants are highly encouraged to tell friend, family, co-workers, and even the press they are taking the Challenge and to share their experience on the event blog!

For more information contact Hannah Hostetter at 509-888-3010 or gleaning@communityfarmconnection.org.

ATTENTION WENATCHEE PARTICIPANTS:

Community Harvest just confirmed the opportunity for a screening of the new film, A Place at the Table, at Liberty Theater, but the screening, powered by tugg, will only happen if 75 people purchase tickets online here before April 25th!

Attending the screening will be a one-time opportunity to engage with Hunger in the U.S. & learn more about anti-hunger efforts in Chelan & Douglas counties. As an added bonus, Community Harvest will receive a portion of the ticket sales! Also, those who attend the event will automatically be entered to win a 1 month FREE share of Farmhouse Table’s 2013 CSA- an $88 value!

Please buy your ticket TODAY as this event will not take place if 75 people do not reserve their tickets online before the deadline. (And don’t worry, if you reserve your ticket and the movie is cancelled, you will receive a full refund.)

Support Community Harvest and watch a fabulous film at the same time. Get some friends together and make it a socially just evening that will expand your horizons! Can’t attend yourself, but want to support Community Harvest? Buy a ticket and give it to a friend.

This great film can come to Wenatchee, but only if YOU make it happen!
