Lara Hays, President, is a longtime CFC volunteer and CSA subscriber. She has a biology background and recently finished a teaching degree. Lara enjoys spending time outdoors with her family. She has a love of food, cares about where it comes from, and is a collector of recipes.
Annette Pitts, Vice President, is the Executive Director of the Cascade Loop Association, a non-profit tourism organization whose goal is to promote and preserve Washington State’s 400+ mile, nationally-acclaimed scenic byway. Annette holds a B.A.S. in Business Administration and recently obtained her ICTP certification through the International Culinary Tourism Association. Annette is also a Wenatchee Valley Museum Board member. When she isn’t at work, look for her in her vegetable garden, in her kitchen cooking, or hiking with one of her three dogs.
Steve Kolk, Secretary, coordinates local salmon recovery efforts for the Bureau of Reclamation. He is currently enrolled in the Washington Ag Forestry Education Foundation’s Leadership Program and is working with EAT to get healthier food into our schools through a local Farm-to-School program.
Anne McClendon, Treasurer, owned and operated EarthSong Farm, a small diversified organic farm in Cashmere, with her business partner Gale Bates, until the two retired from farming in 2007. In addition to selling at the Wenatchee Valley Farmers Market, EarthSong Farm offered the first CSA in the Wenatchee area. In 2005, she inspired and helped start Farmhouse Produce, a local produce market in Cashmere which later partnered with Community Farm Connection. With her background in farming and a degree in Sustainable Agriculture, she brings to the board considerable breadth of knowledge and experience related to food and farming issues in our region.
